My name is Sarah-Lyona and I live in Chatham County NC, where I’m inspired by local artists, community builders, and healers, and all the plants and animals we live amongst! My two dogs are my steadfast companions and cherished members of my family. Through my art, I honor many forms of family, identity, and community.

Whether I’m wood burning a great blue heron, portrait of a beloved pet, original maze, signs for trails or homes, or a personalized gift, my dream is always to feed our connection to each other and to nature in some way.

Why I started this business:

After years of working in people centered helping professions, I needed a significant career change that  would support me in recovering from burnout, managing my anxiety, and caring for my health, while still doing work that I’m passionate about.
I LOVE wood burning: the creativity, relationship with the wood, the calming process, and the endless artistic possibility! Through this business I am creating a livelihood where I can support myself with work that brings me daily joy, steadiness, peace, and wellness and brings happiness & connection to others.

How do I consider the environment in my craft?

The majority of the wood used for my art comes from local woodworkers with scraps, thrift stores or habitat restores, or private woodland. I choose to prioritize wood that’s harvested responsibly or repurposed as much as I can.

I use beautiful fabrics, paper, and ribbon from thrift stores and other second hand sources to wrap my art.
